The switcheroo means PDX Bento is no longer happening

Prepare for PDX Sliders 2.0. Owner Ryan Rollins is taking over Jenn Louis’s old Sunshine Tavern venue at 3111 SE Division St. The space had most recently been operating as Black Dog Lounge, which closed the doors on October 17. Rollins says he’s aiming to put the patties to the griddle by December 1.

“We plan to do a very similar menu to our Sellwood location, doing sliders and full-size burgers,” he says. “We are hoping to fill the lunch void left by the Tidbit food pod’s leaving, and will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.”

Rollins had been developing a new restaurant, PDX Bento, and even had a lease secured on East Burnside. But, at least for the moment, PDX Bento is being shelved. He says he transferred the East Burnside lease to Ashland’s Sammich sandwich shop when the SE Division venue became available.

PDX Sliders began as a food cart, and Yelpers ranked its sliders the 4th best burgers in the nation in 2016. Riding on its fandom, it opened its brick and mortar at 1605 SE Bybee in Sellwood-Moreland in January 2017.
