The Belmont neighborhood lost its long-running, highly popular breakfast spot when the Cricket Cafe closed its doors without explanation in June 2017, but, according to WWeek, it will be saved: The restaurateurs behind Jam on Hawthorne, one of Portland’s most popular brunches, are bringing Cricket Cafe back.
Katie Prevost and Gordon Feighner took over the Cricket Cafe space this month and plan to reopen by the end of November — not a minute too soon, considering the neighborhood had to do without its extra crispy hash browns, huge portions, and good prices all summer. Prevost and Feighner plan to keep Cricket Cafe’s menu and set-up the same. (They were regulars before it closed.)
When it reopens, Cricket Cafe will continue to serve breakfast all day, with lunch dishes too, at 3159 SE Belmont St. The hours will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily.
