Stoopid Burger Puts the Patties to the Griddle in New Brick and Mortar

The up-and-coming burger spot replaces Slowburger in the Ocean complex

With the newly opened brick and mortar at 2329 NE Glisan (inside the Ocean complex), Stoopid Burger is on a roll (sorry). Owners John Hunt and Danny Moore started Stoopid Burger as a food cart in the North Williams neighborhood in 2014, and they’ve since won the the O’s 2016 People's Choice award for Portland's Best Burger and received the WWeek title, 2017 Top Classic Burger in Portland.

Moving into the Ocean complex on November 1 — right between the Sudra and 24th & Meatballs — Stoopid Burger replaced newly shuttered Slowburger. It offers counter service and operates Monday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

What defines a Stoopid Burger? It’s a traditional American burger you might mistake for a gourmet burger, but it doesn’t have pretentious ingredients. The signature “Stoopid Burger” features hand-formed beef patties topped with bacon, ham, a hot link, cheddar, and an egg, with fries in a little paper bag to keep them warm, for $15.75.
