Welcome to the eighth annual Eater Awards, honoring the most talented restaurant and bar industry gurus in cities across the world. Here’s how the Eater Awards work: All 24 Eater cities and the national site will grant prizes in multiple categories, including but not limited to Restaurant of the Year, Chef of the Year, and Design of the Year.

In each category, there will be an editor’s choice winner and a readers’ choice winner — all to be announced on December 5, 2017. The readers’ choice winners get unlimited bragging rights as Eater fan favorites. The editor’s choice winners will each receive an illustrious tomato can trophy, as is the tradition around here.

Eater Portland’s 2017 nominees in the Restaurant of the Year category serve up everything from creative Northwest seafood plates in a neighborhood setting, to a boundary-pushing chef’s counter in the middle of a modernist kitchen. There are modern dishes straight from the Barcelona countryside, and others featuring rare varieties of produce spiked with Middle Eastern flavors. And yes, there’s ramen.

One note on nominee eligibility: The Awards focus on restaurants opened in the past year or that had recently turned on the lights when the 2016 Eater Awards were compiled (October 2016).

Now, without any further ado, it’s time to vote for the readers’ choice winner in the Restaurant of the Year category; come back each day this week to vote in four more categories. Polls will be open for 24 hours (beginning at 11 a.m. each day) and will be strictly policed for funny business.

Cast your vote for Restaurant of the Year now; the poll closes at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28:
