Ramen-Whisperer Afuri’s Second Portland Location Is Now Open

Tokyo-based franchise Afuri changed the local ramen game when it started simmering stock in Portland last year, and the breakout ramen restaurant’s second location is now open for business, according to the O’s Michael Russell, who glimpsed it by chance during a visit to Old Town.

As first confirmed by Eater, Afuri chose Old Town for its second U.S. location. It is currently open with sporadic hours at 50 SW 3rd Ave. (formerly Captain Ankeny’s Well), and it’s holding a grand opening celebration tomorrow, November 10. The O reports the new location is smaller, with a greater focus on ramen and gyoza (dumplings). It’ll ultimately operate daily for lunch and dinner.
