The popular Ole Latte food cart, owned by Todd Edward and known for its house-roasted coffees and bagels, is opening a brick and mortar with around 15 seats at 1410 SE Clinton St., PoMo reports. No opening date has been announced, but PoMo says the brick and mortar should fire up the La Marzocco espresso machine “in the next few weeks.”
Come spring, Ole Latte will be joined by the long-gone Picnic food cart, which shuttered in 2013 after earning a reputation for sandwiches featuring house-smoked meats on house-baked sourdough bread. The cart will set up shop alongside Ole Latte and the two adjacent businesses will operate as one, with seating inside Ole Latte. Picnic owner John Dovydenas also operates the Dovydenas urban winery at 1410 SE Clinton.
In preparation for the new location, Ole Latte shuttered its food cart at SW 10th and Alder on December 1, but its coffee and bagels food carts near PSU at SW 5th and Harrison soldier on. When the SE Clinton location opens, it’ll operate Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
