Ristretto Roasters Starts Percolating February 16 in Former ‘Oregonian’ Building

See the cafe with 30-foot ceilings

Roasting coffee locally since 2005, Ristretto Roasters opens its fifth cafe today. The new cafe is inside the illustrious 1948 building designed by architect Pietro Belluschi, formerly home to The Oregonian newspaper, at 1320 SW Broadway St. Positioned in a corner of the lobby, Ristretto Roasters shares the same 30-foot-high ceilings and has a wide-open format.

As previously announced, the new Ristretto Roasters location will serve its house coffees in a variety of espresso-based drinks, as well as in drip-coffee form. Also on offer are Kim Boyce’s Bakeshop pastries and beer and wine. The cafe operates Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and weekends, from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The opening comes on the heels of another Ristretto Roasters cafe, as well. The company fired up the espresso machines two weeks ago inside Koin Tower, at 222 SW Columbia St. The Koin Tower location also operates Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., but is closed weekends.
