SE Division Street was Portland's most shape-shifting dining neighborhood in 2016, and last year solidified the street's reputation as a competitive restaurant battleground to see who can hack it. Honky Tonk Taco, developed by an outfit including many top Portland restaurateurs, shuttered after just three months, and Andy Ricker, the chef who put SE Division Street on the map with Pok Pok, even closed his Asian noodle house Sen Yai. A study in the dramatic rise and fall of SE Division restaurants, this story stream includes all of the openings and closings between January 2016 and February 2017.

—The popular food cart by Boke Bowl, Boke Dokie moved to the Tidbits food cart pod on SE Division in November 2016.
