Many have been amazed by the way the Portland community has come together since the inauguration of President Donald Trump, but this culinary party may be the largest collaboration among Portland’s food community, yet: Sellwood-Moreland’s Either/Or cafe is teaming up with Sprudge.com to throw a “chill” pizza party for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Just look who’s involved:
- Either/Or
- Pizza Jerk
- Sizzle Pie
- Scottie’s Pizza Parlor
- Red Sauce Pizza
- Handsome Pizza
- Day Wines
- Swick Wines
- St. Reginald Parish Winery
- Bow & Arrow Winery
- Division Winemaking Company
- Art + Science Cider
- Johan Vineyards
- E&R Wine Shop
- Estelle Imports
- PDX Wine
- and Sprudge co-founder Jordan Michelman
Every dollar you spend at the event will go to ACLU, according to the event page. DJs will be spinning and Either/Or, easily one of the best coffee shops in the city, will serve some special coffee drinks.
Sprudge is also doing a nationwide ACLU fundraiser, partnering with an estimated 200+ coffee shops. Either/OR owner Ro Tam tells Eater, “Jordan Michelman from Sprudge reached out to me about joining in. He’s also the wine writer for Willamette Week and a huge wine nerd, so we decided to do an additional event to raise even more funds for ACLU.”
There is one catch for football fans: This epic ACLU fundraiser will take place on Sunday, February 5 — the same day as the Super Bowl (the Super Bowl starts at 3:30 p.m.). The relaxed Either/Or happening goes on from 4 to 8 p.m., at 8235 SE 13th Ave., Ste. 2.
