As part of the Portland Food Adventures dining series, Top Chef finalist Doug “Dougie” Adams (Imperial) and 2017 James Beard Award semifinalist Peter Cho (Han Oak) are bringing the barbecue. Adams earned a strong following as executive chef of Imperial, but he’s been pretty quiet since leaving the restaurant in summer 2016—focusing on opening his own venture, Bullard. The multi-coursed barbecue meal takes place May 10, and it’s bound to be a hot ticket. Reservations are available here.

Held at Han Oak at 511 NE 24th Ave., dinner costs $130, and the price includes all food, drink pairings, gratuity, and the usual Portland Food Adventure goodie bag of gift certificates to its featured chefs’ favorite restaurants. On the food front, Adams is handling the barbecue, with Cho tackling veggies and passed bites. And in a battle of the birds, both are making fried chicken.

A few chef’s counter seats may also be available. Those attending Portland Food Adventure’s Quaintrelle dinner will have a first crack at them, and any remaining seats will go on sale on its website on March 31.
