Nomad.PDX has settled in after opening on February 9, and Eater photographer Dina Avila returns with photos of the bright and airy dining rooms, as well as the funky Ash Bar. Chef-owners Ryan Fox and Ali Matteis completed the buildout themselves, even spending weeks with blowtorches charring wood paneling in traditional Japanese shoshugen-style for the Ash Bar facade.
The restaurant portion of Nomad.PDX is 2,020 square feet, and the bar area is 450 square feet. Inside, you can choose from three dining experiences: The 13-seat bar welcomes walk-ins and offers an a la carte menu; the 40-seat dining room offers a prix-fixe 10-course menu; and the piece de resistance, Nomad.PDX’s 13-seat chef’s counter, is where its modernist 20-course meals are served.
Nomad.PDX is now open Thursday through Sunday for dinner starting at 5 p.m. It is currently accepting reservations through OpenTable. The bar stays open late, and Sundays at Nomad.PDX are the Crush industry night, starting at 10 p.m.
