Prepare for the Return of Off the Griddle’s ‘OTG Burger’

The formerly famous veggie burger food cart is going brick and mortar

Between 2010 and 2013, the food cart Off the Griddle harnessed solar energy with aplomb to grill some very popular veggie burgers, and chef-owners Ashley Arthur and Dan Harding are now bringing its eponymous “OTG Burger” and more to the Foster-Powell neighborhood, at 6526 SE Foster Rd. According to Facebook, construction at Off the Griddle is nearly complete, so it’s down to the final permitting and inspections. The brick and mortar takes over the former music bar, Gemini.

Back in the day, Off the Griddle operated at the SE 50th and Division food cart pod (which made way for condos last year). Arthur and Harding announced their brick-and-mortar dreams way back in 2012, but a series of lease options fell through. The duo has also been busy operating their vegan and vegetarian breakfast spot, specializing in waffles and hashes, on Burnside, A.N.D. Cafe.

Absolutely cannot wait? Perhaps this funky Oregon-meets-dinosaurs mural going up on one of the restaurant’s walls will tide you over:
