It’s setting up shop right next door to the Alberta neighborhood bakery

One of Portland’s leading gluten-free bakeries, Back to Eden is opening a cafe next door to its location at 2217 NE Alberta St., PoMo reports. Maintaining the gluten-free and vegan model, the cafe expects to open in July to serve Back to Eden baked goods and a new lineup of breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes.

Back to Eden Bakery’s new cafe will add around 40 seats, and the menu will range from vegan breakfast sandwiches on house-baked biscuits in the mornings, to focaccia panini for lunch. Dinner will bring gluten-free pizza, which means a promising contender for Portland’s best gluten-free pizza is about to enter the ring.

John Blomgren and Garrett Jones founded Back to Eden in 2009. Today, it serves its pastries and vegan ice creams at the Alberta spot as well as from its food cart inside the Tidbit pod on SE Division Street.
