Isaac Brock, the lead singer and guitarist for indie rock band Modest Mouse, is about to become a bar owner: WWeek reports the rockstar is taking over the space vacated by the decade-old Red Flag dive bar, at 344 NE 28th Ave. This is obviously good news for fans, but will the food and drink be worth seeking out?
It appears they very well could be. Brock is working with the Title Bout restaurant group, founded earlier this year by Collin Connon; Matt Brown, one of the co-founders of Bunk Sandwiches and Pizza Jerk; and Jessica Williams, a five-year veteran of the ChefStable restaurant group.
Brock’s forthcoming bar doesn’t have a name, yet, and overall, details are scant. The most exciting lead so far is that it’ll have a 100 percent Brock-designed decor. Speaking with WWeek, Brown said, "Isaac's good at creating worlds — whether that's on an album, the interior of a space or an exterior." Find more details here as they develop.
