One of Portland’s most established breweries, Widmer Brothers Brewing has opened a pop-up beer garden for the summer, located across the street from its North Portland pub, at 929 N Russell St., and as first reported by the O, it will involve food. In an email to Eater, Widmer confirms the beer garden will soon be home to two food carts, and for now, all food will be furnished by its pub (see full menu below).
To wash it all down, the beer garden will serve beers from Widmer’s small-batch brewery, with a focus on experimental brews. The brewery’s iconic hefeweizen will also be available in can-form. Kids and dogs are welcome, with some lawn games onsite, and it appears Widmer could throw fun events throughout the summer, starting with a beer garden brunch on July 28.
The brewery isn’t ready to confirm which two food carts will occupy the space, but it sounds as though the announcement will come shortly. Until then, you can find the beer garden, its beers, and the below food menu Thursday through Sunday, from noon to 10 p.m.
