The Portland International Airport is always forcing passengers to eat and drink delicious things, and its latest phase sees two of Oregon’s most popular breweries joining its ranks: Portland-based Hopworks Urban Brewery and Bend-based Deschutes Brewery.
According to the press release, Hopworks will be located in Concourse E, and Deschutes will open in Concourse D. They are replacing Rogue Ales & Spirits and Laurelwood Brewery.
“The opening dates are tentative,” says Steve Johnson, who manages the airport’s media relations. “We’re looking at summer 2018.”
Opened in 2007, Hopworks is Portland’s bike-themed, family-friendly brewery, known for making a huge portfolio of beers, from Pacific Northwest IPAs and seasonal ales, to stouts and sours. Its food menus are equally expansive, so picky eaters are likely to find good options.
Deschutes Brewery was founded in Bend, Oregon in 1988, and it also makes beers in numerous styles. Its burgers are standouts — especially the Yellow Belly Burger, which comes topped with root beer-braised pork belly.
