The Alphabet District’s Vietnamese spot Fish Sauce has quickly rebounded after July’s fire, which broken out just a few weeks ago, on July 30. Owner Ben Bui tells Eater Fish Sauce has reopened, and it is maintaining regular business hours.
“Fish Sauce is running full speed,” says Bui, “with all of our food and cocktails available.”
Located at 407 NW 17th Ave., Fish Sauce specializes in Vietnamese-inspired plates and cocktails for lunch and dinner, with well-priced happy hour offerings.
July’s fire is believed to have started near the trash area behind the restaurant, with Bui reporting, “The fire got through the main electrical power to the building, and the whole building is out of service until further notice.” It was particularly untimely: Bui and his family had just opened sister-restaurant, Short Round, on July 17, at 3962 SE Hawthorne Blvd.
