Atomic Pizza Hollywood will close on October 28, and an employee at the restaurant confirms it has already modified its hours: The pizzeria is now open Monday through Friday, from 5 to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, from 1 to 10 p.m. The flagship Atomic Pizza location on North Killingsworth isn’t going anywhere.

Atomic Pizza Hollywood has served veggie, meat, and cheese pies and slices at 4144 NE Sandy Blvd. since 2013, and it also furnishes the pizza at the adjacent Hollywood Theatre through a “pie hole” window.

Owners Jenna Forzley and Bill McCracken announced the closure on Facebook, stating that they and the Hollywood Theatre could not agree on lease negotiations.

Forzley and McCracken write, “We had every intention of re-signing our lease and continuing another five to ten years in this location. Unfortunately, we were not able to come to an agreement with the Hollywood Theatre. We had really hoped for adjustments to the supply agreement with the Theatre that would be beneficial for both parties going forward, but that was not the case.”

Like other local restaurateurs, they cite the higher cost of doing business in Portland, which they say they’ve experienced in recent years, as one of the reasons they decided to close.

ATOMIC PIZZA: HOLLYWOOD IS CLOSING

It is with regret that we are letting everyone know that Atomic Pizza: Hollywood will be closing on October 28. It will be open modified hours as of August 22.

We had every intention of re-signing our lease and continuing another five to ten years in this location. Unfortunately, we were not able to come to an agreement with the Hollywood Theatre.

A lot has changed in the past few years, and the cost of doing business has increased dramatically. We had really hoped for adjustments to the supply agreement with the Theatre that would be beneficial for both parties going forward, but that was not the case. We had to make the difficult decision to close.

We appreciate all of our customers’ support and, of course, our hard working, friendly, amazing staff over the past 5 years.

Atomic Pizza at 1936 N. Killingsworth location will remain open and serving the community for many years to come. We hope to see you there!

Thank You,

Bill & Jenna
