One of the Portland area’s top barbecue stops, Vancouver-based Daddy D’s tells Eater it has just signed on at the Moda Center. Daddy D’s will serve its barbecue from one location on the 100 level and and two on the 300 level. Its first day is September 15.

Owner Donnie Vercher hails from Louisiana, and he uses his experience as a third-generation pit master to serve beef brisket, pulled pork, pork ribs by the full and half slab, hot links, and chicken. The saucy chopped brisket is where to start.

And Vercher has more big news: In addition to hopping the Columbia River, Daddy D’s plans to open a second Vancouver location later this month, at 11817 NE 117th Ave. Vercher says after a lot of work he’s bringing the fourth generation into the fold: His youngest son Isaiah Vercher will oversee all of the barbecue at the new location. Look for more details as they develop, here on Eater.
