NYC’s Christmas-Themed Bar Pop Up Descends on Portland This Winter

The holidays are still a ways out, but the people behind New York City’s hit holiday bar pop-up Miracle are already plotting an expansion to 50 cities around the world including Portland. The pop-up will takeover the Function events space from Black Friday on November 24 through Christmas Eve on December 24, transforming it into a kitschy libation laboratory decked out in ribbons and garlands.

Miracle was developed four years ago by founder Greg Boehm, owner of the cocktail bar Mace in New York’s East Village. At the suggestion of his mother, Boehm stopped construction on the then-unopened bar and filled it with festive decor and holiday-centric drinks. The pop-up became a hit and soon expanded to other bars throughout world such as The Big Apple in Atlanta and Nexus Bar in Montreal.

The menu for the temporary bar features holiday-themed drinks such as the Snowball Old Fashioned (gingerbread bourbon, wormwood bitters, lemon zest), the How The Gimlet Stole Christmas (gin, sage, pine and caraway cordial), and the Run Run Rudolph (blanco tequila, coffee liqueur, iced hot chocolate, Mexican spices).
