Baker extraordinaire — as well as a judge on MasterChef and MasterChef Junior — Christina Tosi is bringing her beloved Milk Bar to Portland on September 15. Visiting for Feast, the two-time James Beard Award winner will pop up in Chalino’s courtyard from 5 to 8 p.m. to sell her game-changing baked goods, including cookies, Crack Pie slices, B’Day Truffles, and Cereal Milk ice cream.

According to an email from the Milk Bar and Chalino teams, Tosi and Chalino chef-owner Johnny Leach met in New York and are close friends. Milk Bar is part of David Chang’s Momofuku empire, and Leach worked at Chang’s Momofuku Ko and Má Pêche.

Since opening Milk Bar in 2008, Tosi has had a no-holds-barred approach to baking — one in which chocolate chips, pretzels, coffee grounds, potato chips, and butterscotch can all appear in one pastry. Milk Bar now has nine locations in New York City, with additional shops in Washington D.C., Toronto, and Las Vegas; in other words, it doesn’t have any West Coast locations. Head to 25 N Fremont St. on September 15 to taste what it’s all about.
