After just passing its first anniversary, cheery vegan and gluten-free waffle cafe A Little Nectar is closing in Lents. According to the restaurant’s Facebook page, the cafe’s resources will now pour into a catering truck, “transform(ing) into something the same but also different,” in the words of the post. The cafe’s last day will be this Sunday, November 18.
From the folks behind Nectar Cafe in the Hollywood District, A Little Nectar is a tiny outpost with fascinating waffles — some are sweet, smothered in spiced apples, while others come drenched in savory mushroom gravy. The cafe had just hit Eater PDX’s Essential Vegan and Vegetarian map, where reporter Michelle DeVona applauded the restaurant for its “delightful,” “cozy” charm. The cafe opened in September 2017, where it became a staple for waffles, tea, and cheerful latte art. Check out the restaurant’s Facebook page for more updates.
