Boutique Ladd’s Addition coffee shop Upper Left Roasters is opening a second cafe in the historic Meier & Frank building downtown. The new coffee shop, set to open on December 19, will have an assortment of bagel sandwiches, decked-out toasts, and of course, plenty of coffee — in particular, the cafe will keep Upper Left’s nitro cacao cold brew on tap.

Upper Left first opened the original store on SE Clay in 2015, where it quickly became a neighborhood favorite for its ethically sourced, single-origin coffee roasts. Head roaster Chris Alspach will continue to roast for both locations in the Ladd’s Addition shop.

Upper Left is joining a number of new coffee shops on the Westside, including the soon-to-open Good coffee within the incoming Woodlark hotel. Its original location will remain open, serving its classic sandwiches and coffees.
