Dark blue darling Dame, the new wine bar and restaurant home to Maya Lovelace’s popular pop-up Mae, is opening its own bottle shop in the private dining room behind the restaurant. Dame Bottle Shop will specialize in natural wines, hosting regular tastings with winemakers and a wine fair to kick things off.
Dame Bottle Shop will be intentionally tiny, with a specifically curated wine selection — every bottle in the shop will be made using organic farming practices and native yeasts. Along with the bar’s 130 to 150 wine list, the bottle shop will sell an additional 30 to 50 wines from around the world, including bottles from local wine nerd favorites like Division Winemaking Company, Fossil & Fawn, and Minimus.
The opening party will feature all the above wineries, plus nine other local producers, as well as snacks for purchase from Dame chef Kyle Christy and sous Natalia Rodriguez Longo. The open tasting will be $20, waived with purchase of three bottles. Starting November 15, the bottle shop will be open from 2 p.m. to close Wednesday through Sunday.
