Matt’s BBQ, one of the city’s most popular food carts and most lauded barbecue spots, announced via a Facebook post that it is on the hunt for a new location as the cart is being effectively evicted from its current location.
At present, the barbecue food truck serves up its Texas-style brisket and sausages from the parking lot of an H&B Loans on NE Martin Luther King, where it has sat since it opened in 2015. However, owner Matt Vicedomini tells Eater that he was informed that the lot is going to be used for the construction of a George Morlan Plumbing supply store, and that his truck will have to find a new place by August 1, when its lease ends.
“We need to get out of there before then, the sooner the better, as that’s the busiest time of year for us and closing to move would be terrible for us,” says Vicedomini. Given the popularity of the shop (the meats tend to sell out every day at relatively early hours), it likely will not come to that, especially if someone steps in to help.

Vicedomini and his crew are hoping that Portlanders will spread the word, and hinted subtly that he’d like to set up next to a bar or a brewery. “Our briskets pair nicely with a frosty beer,” the Facebook post reads.
