Forget cat cafes — just outside Portland sits the “world’s first dog tap house.” Instead of kitties and coffee, Tigard-based Fido’s Tap House offers rescue pups and pints. According to CBS KOIN, the establishment recently opened, but plans a grand opening on February 13. Fido’s Tap House is located at 7700 SW Dartmouth St. #110 in Tigard.
Owner Scott Porter wants patrons to visit and hopes many will consider adopting the homeless dogs. While there are beers and snacks, Fido’s Dog House hopes to emphasize rescue and giving back to dog charities.
Beers available include a wide selection of Oregon selections, from Coalition to Zoiglhaus. The food offerings range from bacon and corn dip to fancy hot dogs to a range of pizzas. Fido’s Dog House opens Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
