Three years after opening its first brick and mortar, colorful taco spot Taco Pedaler has a new location in the Concordia neighborhood.
As the Portland Mercury reported a few weeks back, Taco Pedaler takes over the former Pollo Norte space on NE 42nd. It opened its doors in the last few days doing a rounded menu of tacos that run from meaty to vegan, along with chips, guac, and quesadillas — a liquor license is on the way, too.
The new location will feature a sizable patio complete with fire pit and play area for the kids, and just like the first brick and mortar location, it’ll do brunch every day.
Taco Pedaler is the work of Melanie McClure, who started out in 2011 with a fleet of tricycles that would appear at events and dish up tacos on house-made tortillas. In 2015, she nabbed her first permanent location on Northeast Broadway, now a bright space decked out with a loose cycling theme. Unfortunately the trikes have been put on figurative blocks for now — the Mercury reports that they won’t be popping up in any public settings anymore, although they’re available for private events.
STATUS — Taco Pedaler’s second location is open at 5427 NE 42nd Avenue (near Killingsworth) from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
