Fast Greek Cuisine Lands in Vancouver

Bring on the gyros

The Gyro Shack

Convenient Greek eatery The Gyro Shack has expanded to Vancouver, WA with a location in the Hazel Dell Marketplace at 7902 NE 6th Ave., Suite 106. The restaurant opened on Monday, March 5, with a gyro-eating contest with the first prize including a free original gyro a week for a year.

The Gyro Shack franchisees Vince Carich and Tim Martens will also open additional restaurants in the area, including a second location on Vancouver’s east side.

Founded by the Zaharioudakis family in Boise, The Gyro Shack has long been known as a fast, affordable option for Greek food. For those not familiar with the chain, gyros are made to order with meat carved off a spit and an array of toppings from traditional Mediterranean flavors like hummus and tzatziki. Or customers can go a completely different route with a BLT on a pita or a spicy bacon and avocado option. There’s also an option for salads and baklava.

The Gyro Shack in Vancouver is open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
