Red sauce fever continues in Portland. As Il Solito and Enoteca Nostrana gear up for their openings, two new Italian restaurants have opened in The Porter: Chiosco Pizza Window sticks to quick Italian bites and Roman-style pizza, while Terrane Italian Kitchen + Bar explores a range of classic Italian food. James Beard Rising Star AJ Voytko will oversee four separate restaurants in downtown’s new opulent hotel, but Terrane is his flagship, with breakfasts like porchetta hash, $8 pasta lunches, and daily dinner specials.

Breakfast

Like tons of hotel restaurants, Terrane is feeding people throughout the day — so that includes breakfast, which Voytko gives an Italian twist. His breakfast hash comes with porchetta and broccoli rabe, pancakes are made with polenta and topped with amaretti crumbles, and he bakes eggs in marinara with a hearty topping of grana padano. Take a deeper look at the menu below.

Lunch

Pasta is what’s up on Terrane’s lunch menu; a full order of each is only $15, $8 for a half-order, with options like pappardelle with “mama’s ragu,” beet fettuccini with goat cheese and arugula, and a garganelli with carbonara prosciutto and peas. Beyond pasta, lunch also includes a few secondi, including a chicken leg with polenta and wild mushrooms and a hanger steak with parmesan gratin. Take a look at the details below:

Dinner

Dinner pulls out all the trattoria stops, from arancini to prawn scampi. The pasta menu gets two additions after lunch: a cannelloni with fennel sausage and ricotta and a rabbit agnolotti with radish and scallion pesto. Off the restaurant’s grill, the centerpiece of the restaurant’s open kitchen, come options like swordfish with garlic, capers, and lemon and a porchetta.
