Is Top Chef Finalist Doug Adams Finally Going to Open His Restaurant?

Top Chef finalist and meat magician Doug Adams dropped hints that his long-anticipated restaurant Bullard is close to opening. In a September 2016 Oregonian story, Adams announced plans to open a down-home Americana spot in the Woodlark hotel. Since then... not much: The restaurant’s instagram was last updated in 2017. But on the chef’s personal Instagram, here comes a clue: A picture of a crazy-marbled chunk of meat, presumably between Adams’ fingers, with the caption, “@bullardpdx coming to ya.”

Apparently, the chef was showing off a few dishes at a preview dinner within the hotel, which is a very good sign for its potential opening this summer. The restaurant website page and the hotel page both show “coming soon” with no real specifics, but a girl can dream, right?

For those who missed it, Adams was the chef at Imperial before he moved over to The Woodsman Tavern last year. He says Bullard will sling barbecue and his famous fried chicken, but the details are scarce. Stay tuned for more updates.
