The clouds have parted, and Stormbreaker has arrived on Lombard. The brewery, a Mississippi favorite for its summery patio and people-pleasing beers, opened its new location in St. Johns last week, serving its classic red and kolsch and its hop-heavy IPAs. Stormbreaker announced its plans to move in to the North Portland neighborhood in September, taking over the former Plew’s Brews location. It’s a sprawling space for St. Johns and the brewery, with a full bar, full kitchen, outdoor patio, and plenty of wood paneling and exposed stone. New School had the first look at the space, showing off the brewpub’s 20 taps and reclaimed wood furniture.
Stormbreaker opened four years ago on Mississippi, and has developed a reputation for its knockout food menu, from burgers loaded with pimento cheese and poblanos to a surprisingly tasty kale caesar. Stormbreaker St. Johns is open from 11 a.m to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and Monday.
