Square, crispy-bottomed pizza pop-up Ranch Pizza has its own digs. The pop-up announced on Instagram that the restaurant opened Saturday in a brand-new space in Northeast Portland at 1760 NE Dekum. Earlier this year, Ranch began serving pizzas out of Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock’s Kerns bar, Poison’s Rainbow, where those unfamiliar with the pop-up fell in love with its iconoclastic, spongy-on-the-inside pizza, smothered in a house ranch dressing.
The new location doesn’t have Poison’s Rainbow’s several flavors, including its Hawaiian with bacon and jalapenos, but its popular #4, topped with a smattering of Mama Lil’s Peppers, Italian sausage, and ricotta, has hit the menu. The new location also has something called the “meat tornado,” with nothing but “meats” listed in its explanation. Booze hounds will find a handful of expected Italian cocktails at Ranch Pizza, including a negroni and an aperol spritz, and a few draft beers and house wines. The space appears to have a handful of wooden booths and a modest bar for Northeasterners looking to inhale a slice of loaded, cheesy bread. Ranch Pizza is open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
