Nestled in Multnomah Village just outside of Portland proper, Tastebud Pizza has been serving its wood fired pizzas, Italian dishes, and wine to the sleepy neighborhood for a few years now, but just last month it quietly rolled out a new brunch menu. While it’s a welcome addition to the Multnomah Village dining scene, it’s also worth the trip for anyone for just two words: breakfast pizza.
The menu isn’t dramatically different from the dinner one, offering pizza and small plates with most ingredients sourced from local farms, but there are some notable additions. The breakfast pizza is one—called the Colazione, it’s a wood fired pizza topped with scrambled eggs, cheddar, shitake and crimini mushrooms, bacon, walla walla onions, and fresh herbs. The small plate section also sees some new items, including a yogurt bowl with fresh fruit and a salmon bruschetta with tomato and cucumbers. On the sweeter side, the brunch menu gets a Dutch baby—a large, eggy pancake topped with jam and powdered sugar.
Continuing with the theme, the cocktail menu has the largest revamp, with classics like mimosas, bloody marys, and bellinis all available, as well as more esoteric breakfast cocktails like the historic corpse reviver #2, a boozy gin drink with absinthe and lemon.
Tastebud’s brunch menu is currently offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with dinner service starting again at 5 p.m.
