A Mysterious Neighborhood Bistro Will Hit Killingsworth’s Dining Hotspot

Jinx will take over the Cup & Saucer space near Beast, according to a posted sign

“Look out!!! Jinx is coming,” reads the sign now posted in the window of the shuttered Cup and Saucer, a longstanding cafe on the corner of 30th and Killingsworth. According to the sign, the restaurant is “a neighborhood bistro catering to both omnivores and vegans” with a full bar and weekend brunch.

The restaurant doesn’t seem to have much of an online presence, with no discernible website or Facebook page. A business license search and liquor license search come up with no information for “Jinx Neighborhood Bistro,” though Jinx LCC does exist for a different address. It’s unclear if this Jinx will be related to the closed Jinx Kitchen & Lounge, though it seems unlikely: That restaurant had more of a clubby atmosphere, with Asian-influenced dishes.

It will have some stiff competition on the corner of 30th and Killingsworth, with Naomi Pomeroy’s restaurant Beast and bar Expatriate around the corner and DOC and Autentica across the street. But who knows? Maybe it has a surprise star behind the wheel.

As for Cup & Saucer, the cafe’s three locations has now dwindled down to the sole Hawthorne location, which has been open for almost 30 years. Stay tuned for more updates, and feel free to send a tip to the Eater tipline if you know more.
