Late next year, Beaverton will be home to one of the city’s favorite pizzerias. Oven & Shaker, the Pearl District Italian restaurant from Portland’s famed chef Cathy Whims, will open a second location in Beaverton’s Cedar Hills Crossing in late 2020, the Oregonian reports.
This development is just the latest in prolific restaurant group Chefstable’s suburban expansion effort: This spring, the restaurant group announced plans to open a six-restaurant development in Lake Oswego in 2021, including Eater 38 stalwart St. Jack. Back then, owner Kurt Huffman alluded to several other leases on properties in Vancouver, Beaverton, and Cedar Hills.
Oven & Shaker is known for its char-blistered pizzas, made in a pseudo-Neapolitan style, with house-pulled mozzarella and toppings like pork belly or fennel pollen. Aviation Gin co-founder Ryan Magarian runs the bar, with an assortment of fresh-juice and zero-proof cocktails. The new Oven & Shaker will be a larger version of the original, just over 4,000 square feet with a patio, near the corner of SW Jenkins Road and Cedar Hills Boulevard.
