Multnomah Village will soon be home to the latest spot from the Portland culinary legends at Toro Bravo. Y’alla will specialize in Ashkenazi favorites like chopped chicken liver and matzo ball soup, as well as Middle Eastern favorites like falafel and hummus.

Chef and owner Kasey Mills, of restaurants like Shalom Y’all and Mediterranean Exploration Company, pulls inspiration from trips to Israel, as well as partner Ron Avni’s background: Avni’s father opened a ranch in Israel called Vered Hagalil, which was part of the impetus for both Shalom Y’all and Y’alla. The menu will focus on a number of smoked meat dishes, including pastrami, with large-format prix fixe menus for larger parties. Plus, like all of Mills’ restaurants, there will be house pita available with freckles of char.

Y’alla will open in the space once home to O’Connors, as the restaurant group’s first restaurant in Multnomah Village. Toro Bravo, which also operates restaurants like Tasty n Alder and the eponymous Toro Bravo, currently runs eight restaurants and a private event space in Portland. The restaurant should begin serving customers at 7850 SW Capitol Highway in Spring 2020.
