Chili-and-slaw-topped burgers, beer-cheese-slathered fries, and swirls of soft serve are coming to Concordia. Bless Your Heart Burgers will open a new location on Killingsworth and 33rd, making it the first location on the east side of the river.

Bless Your Heart Burgers is the casual burger shop from John and Renee Gorham, the team behind Toro Bravo and Tasty et al. The couple has been planning to expand Bless Your Heart beyond its locale in Pine Street Market, and the former Cannon’s Rib location opened up at the right time.

The Gorhams will transform the barbecue shack into an easy walk-up burger counter, enclosing half the patio and adding some heat lamps to make the spot work year-round. The location will sell its famous Northwest beef burgers, of course, with toppings like chili, guacamole, and griddled onions and mushrooms, as well as its various dirty and chili-cheese fries. As for beverages, Bless Your Heart will offer frozen rose and a non-alcoholic slushee, as well as beer and wine available by the pint or growler. For dessert, Bless Your Heart will serve chocolate and vanilla soft serve, with a base made at the restaurant group’s home base, Plaza del Toro.

The newest Bless Your Heart will open July 15, but it shouldn’t be the last — there’s a definite possibility more Bless Your Heart burgers will pop up around the city within the next few years.
