As COVID-19 gains ground in Portland, the face of fine dining is changing. Portland’s vegan fine dining destination, Farm Spirit, has decided to transition away from its tasting menu format during the outbreak, instead offering takeout and delivery.
Starting Sunday, Farm Spirit — and its associated businesses, casual luncheonette Fermenter and brunch pop-up Folklore — will only offer its vegan fare to eat outside the restaurant: Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for Farm Spirit and Fermenter, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays for Folklore. The restaurant will offer its delivery through Portland’s bike delivery service, CCC.
This move follows the transition at Seattle’s prestigious fine dining restaurant Canlis, which is now offering takeout breakfast bagels and drive-thru options like burgers. Meanwhile, in Portland, the more casual Beetroot has also switched to this model, switching to delivery-and-take-out only; fine dining spots like St. Jack have begun offering takeout, as well.
