Tea Chai Té Will Take Over the Former Brew Dr. in North Portland
Portland tea chain Tea Chai Té will open its fourth location on North Mississippi Friday. Tea Chai Té, known for its expansive tea selection, boba, and Happy Mountain brand kombucha, has begun to transform the former Townshend Tea/Brew Dr., which closed last year. Tea Chai Té opened its first location 17 years ago in Northwest Portland; this will be the cafe’s first location in North Portland. The cafe opens January 8 at 3917 North Mississippi Avenue. The Original Food Cart Pod Hit by Vandal Sunday Night
One day following the break-in and burglary at Paadee, the food cart pod home to fried chicken cart Jojo and barbecue destination Holy Trinity Barbecue was hit by a mass break-in. The vandal hit a number of carts, stealing feet warmers from Holy Trinity, prying open the door of pastry cart Penny Cakes, and breaking windows at Jojo and Cajun cart Matt & Memere’s. Portland food carts and restaurants consistently deal with burglaries and break-ins, but the number has increased since the pandemic started. [EaterWire]
