After all the champagne, brunch is always a good idea on New Year's Day, and that goes double on year's like 2017, when it falls on a legit Sunday — the holiest of all brunch days. Find many of the city's best brunch options for New Year's Day 2017 on the map below, along with restaurants and bars open for lunch and dinner (Looking for New Year's Eve festivities? Head over to this map).

Here are some of the highlights: Ava Gene's will ring in 2017 by putting on its first-ever brunch; the North Mississippi saloon-meets-cocktail lounge, Interurban, will help you tackle the dog that bit you with a Mexican-inspired "Hangover Brunch"; Old Salt Marketplace is serving its usual, under-the-radar brunch menu, which means top-quality plates featuring meats from the in-house whole-animal butchery program (likely without much of a wait); and Screen Door will be doing it's usual first come, first serve brunch. Maybe the lines won't be as long on New Year's Day? Maybe?

The map aims to offer great recommendations in neighborhoods all across the city. Know a delicious spot we missed? Let your fellow eaters know in the comments below. (Note the points on this map guide are not ranked; rather, they're organized geographically.)

You might think that the sound of rolling bowling balls and the crack of pins would be the last thing you’d want to hear the morning after NYE — or let’s face it, the afternoon after — but on NYD, PBS is a chill spot in an otherwise closed-down shopping mall. And it serves all-day fun: Down a couple of bloodys, bowl a few strikes, and then head to the movies at the mall’s cinema.
