It’s Portland’s most wonderful time of the year for diners and culinary tourists: Feast, the city’s biggest, baddest food festival, is back September 13 through 16, with everything from cannabis-laced baking classes to a meat-and-three with the Austin-based smoke champion Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue. While events are spread out across the city, the festival’s main events are held in the below locations:
Rosequarter Commons — ‘80s vs. ‘90s (6 p.m. Thursday)
Pioneer Courthouse Square — Friday Grand Tasting (1 p.m.), Saturday Grand Tasting (noon), Brunch Village (11 a.m. Sunday)
Zidell Yards — Night Market (6 p.m. Friday)
The Fields — Smoked! (6 p.m. Saturday)
Grabbing a quick coffee, digestif, or heck, maybe another meal nearby is the key to surviving the weekend. Below, find a smattering of nearby coffee shops, bars, and worthwhile bites organized by venue; most hang out near Pioneer Courthouse Square because it’s the location for the most main events.
